Missing Woman's SUV Found in Erie Canal; Woman Still Missing

13 WHAM - "The vehicle belonging a missing Naples woman was found in the Erie Canal in Waterloo Tuesday night.

State Police and the Canandaigua Police Department found the vehicle around 7:30 p.m. near State Rte. 96A.

The underwater recovery team was able to tow the vehicle to land Wednesday morning.

The vehicle, a gray 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe, was confirmed to belong to 29-year-old Monica Zello.

Zello was last seen late Friday night in Canandaigua and was declared missing Saturday. She is still missing as of Wednesday afternoon. Investigators are currently searching the area where the SUV was found.

A State Police helicopter and numerous K9 units are working as part of the search.

Zello has blonde hair and green eyes. She is 4'11" and weighs approximately 100 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and boots.
