109 years ago . . . in 1904 - THE ICE CREAM CONE WAS INVENTED by Charles E. Minches at the World's Fair in St. Louis.

The song Ice Cream Man is most famously known for it's version by Van Halen, but it was written and recorded by Chicago bluesman John Brim way before that, in the 50's.  In fact Brim was running a dry cleaners and a record store when the royalty checks for the VH version started rolling in.
