We'll start off the 11am hour with some acapella music by request from Jennae Moran (@jennaemoran), who introduced my to a group of guys called Home Free, doing a cool cover of Johnny Cash's signature song.
Home Free- Ring Of Fire
That was good, but definitely not cooler than The Man In Black himself. This is the one time I was lucky enough to see Cash live... at the all star concert in Cleveland when the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame opened in 1995. He did "Folsom Prison Blues", and then dueted with John Mellencamp on "Ring Of Fire". Mellencamp almost ruins that one.
A couple months ago guitar whiz Kenney Wayne Shepherd released a new CD called "Goin' Home". It's a collection of songs that he loves by artists that have influenced his musical career. Since Kenney isn't a singer he's joined by his band's long time vocalist Noah Hunt, and on this cover originally done by Bo Diddley they are assisted by Pastor Brady Blade Sr.

Were you lucky enough to be at Party At The Park this past Thursday? Dickey Betts headlined, but for me it was Ivan Neville's band from New Orleans Dumpstaphunk that stole the show. Get Phunky!!
Dumpstaphunk- Put It In The Dumpster
One great band from the Big Easy deserves another. This is my favorite band from NOLA, and their tribute to the strength of the city's residents after Hurricane Katrina is awesome. As the group's leader Fred LeBlanc would say, "if you know this song sing loud, and if you don't know it sing louder".
Cowboy Mouth- Take Me Back To New Orleans
Ok, I want another one from Cowboy Mouth, and this time live because that's where they are at their best. LET IT GO... LET IT GO... LET IT GO!!!!
Cowboy Mouth- Jenny Says
In case you haven't heard, The Tedeschi Trucks Band is coming to town. They'll be at the Auditorium Theater on Sept. 25th. Tickets went on sale yesterday and they're going pretty fast. This is for you folks that love them as much as Wease.
Who am I kidding? No one loves them as much as Brother Wease. Here is a little Bonnie Raitt/Grateful Dead homage from TTB. This is truly OUTSTANDING. It might have the first awesome flute solo since the Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See" (I don't like Jethro Tull).
