Today's Starting Lineup

Wease is here of course.  He's our Iron Man.

Welcome back to Pauly G, returning from the disabled list.  This is the 3rd year in the row that Googs has been sick the week following the Super Bowl.  We're wondering if just the fact he was sick last year and the year before affected his wacky brain.  He still only at 80 percent, but that's still awesome.

Billy is back behind the scenes manning the Rundown ("hi everyone!"), doing other Wease Show duties, and answering phones today because....

Jackie Nutt is sitting in Marianne's seat being the Queen Of Google for Wease, getting any info Wease needs immediately.

Because Marianne is in NYC doing the stuff TV stars do when they film a television program in the big city.

Wease talks about watching last night's Olympics, and how insane the snowboard chicks are, and how great it was to watch.  He thinks they may be the best athletes in the world.  Football and basketball players aren't even close.

We also get into a discussion of Olympic Hockey, and how that is the only sport the Russians care about winning.

John Ditullio

Olympic talk continues as Wease and Tools discuss John's anti-Olympic stance, and how he doesn't care about them.

Will more people watch the Olympics thjis year because of the threat of terrorism?  Will folks be sitting in front of live coverage just in case something happens in Sochi Russia?  Are the conditions in Sochi really as awful as have been rumored?  Are the Russians really killing stray dogs in the street?  We hope not.

Would Tools (if he was single) rather bang the virginal Lolo Jones (former track star, now an Olympic bobsledder), or watch Brett Favre win the Super Bowl in his last game ever?  These are the types of questions asked on The Wease Show (and we think Tools is leaning towards Favre).

Marshall Fine Film Reviews

The Lego Movie... "The LEGO (R) Movie" is the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO (R) adventure. The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet (Chris Pratt) an ordinary, rules- following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Features the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks, and more.  Marsh says this movie is HILARIOUS, smart, clever, and can't wait to get it on video to watch over and over again to catch stuff he missed.  Who woulda thought?

The Monument Men... A World War II movie based on a real life mission to recover art masterpieces before Nazi's could destroy them.  George Clooney directed and stars with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and John Goodman.  Marshall said this movie was disappointing and boring.

Doug With News

Last night was Jay Leno's last night as host of The Tonight Show so we have a long discussion of Jay as a comedian and talk show host.  We're all fans.  Billy says Leno is the best standup comedian he's ever seen live.  Go check that out HERE.

Here are Jay's final moments as host a 22 year run... pretty impressive, but Wease has talked 5 hours a day for 30 years.

This is very touching.

also in the news....

- Hoffman To Be Buried Today

- Go Red For Women's Friday

- RPD Investigating Homocide On Upper Falls Blvd

Comedian Zack Johnson

Comedian Zack Johnson is headling at the Comedy Club this weekend.  Wease talks to him about black people starting new trends, comedians that have bombed in tough situations, and more.

Future News... Dr. Dre's 50th Anniversary

Wease was reminiscing about the Beatles 50th Anniversary, and tells Pauly that someday he'll feel the same way about the rappers he digs today, talking about the chronic he smoked with his bitches and hos.

In other rap news we mention today is the 14th anniversay of the death of rapper Big Pun, who died at the age of 28 from a heart attack.  He was 700 pounds!!!!

We also pay tribute to Joe T's wife Faith, who passed away earlier this week, and the calling hours are tomorrow.  Wease talks about how devastated T is, but if there is a silver lining it's that Joe has realized how precious life is, and has forgiven grudges he has held for a long time.

Author Larry Kane

We speak to author, newsman, veteran Miami radio personality Larry Kane about his travelling with The Beatles on their first trip to America.  He tells us stories of the group's early career, rise to stardom, playing in clubs in Germany, hiring working girls, etc...  Larry had a lot of interesting things to say, but didn't say them in a very interesting way.  Very dry.  Wease used his favorite excuse to end the interview... "we gotta get to the news".  I bet the book is great though.

Bonus Content... Women Of The Olympics

Marshawn Lynch

Yesterday Wease was on the radio with his friend Bob Rivers in Seattle, who wanted to joke with him about Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch, and how Buffalo traded him for players that didn't work out.  That's where Wease got this awesome song parody about Beast Mode

BJ Novak

We speak to author, actor, comedian BJ Novak... most famous for his role as Ryan on The Office, and also being in Inglorious Basterds, Saving Mr. Banks, and many other movies.  He calls us to promote his new book "One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories".  He was awesome with lots of cool, funny things to talk about.
