Hump Day

95.1 The Brew

Wease starts the morning talking about the excitement in Rochester about the PGA golf tournament, and how all of Wease's friend are excited and talking about it, and it's still only practice.

The price of parking, and looking for the best price, leads to discussion of tipping in general... how much to tip various people from waitresses in places you go to a lot vs. out of town, hotel maids, airports skycaps, and more.

Tools With Sports

Johnny is still out at Oak Hill, and can neither confirm nor deny that he and Tiger ate dinner together last night.  How come last time the PGA was here there were a million rumors of where Woods was staying, but this time nothing?

Yankees lose to the White Sox 3-2 with A-Rod getting booed like crazy... the only cheer he got was when he was hit by a pitch.  Will Alex be booed or cheered when getting home to Yankees Stadium this weekend?

The commercial that everyone is gonna love has Peyton and Eli Manning rapping for "Football On Your Phone"

Chief Sheppard In Studio

95.1 The Brew

Rochester's police chief joins us in studio to talk about things going on in the city, and answer questions about the law.  Pauly asks about the traffic ticket he got in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago after being tailgated by a cop.  The chief suggests Pauly should rudely say "Why you following me man?" next time.

The statistical drop in Rochester's crime rate is also talked about, and budget cuts in police across the country.  Questions are also asked about police presence at Oak Hill this week, and what type of crime you'd find at the PGA Championships.

Marshall Fine Movie Reviews

Talking to Marshall a couple days early this week to see what he thinks of the new movies...

Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters

Starring: Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Abel

Percy Jackson has had an unnervingly quiet school year. But then he discovers that the magical borders protecting Half Blood Hill are failing. Unless something is done, the camp will be attacked by demons and monsters. The only way to restore power to the camp's borders and to save their home is to find the mythical Golden Fleece. And the only who can undertake this dangerous quest are Percy and his friends. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.

We’re The Millers

Starring: Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Nick Offerman, Ed Helms

David Burke is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids—after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks. Stealing his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to his supplier, Brad. In order to wipe the slate clean - and maintain a clean bill of health - David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad’s latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbors, cynical stripper Rose and wannabe customer Kenny, and the tatted-and-pierced streetwise teen Casey, he devises a foolproof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny RV later, the "Millers" are headed south of the border for a Fourth of July weekend that is sure to end with a bang.

Marshall say he laughed from start to finish, and is way better than he thought it was gonna be when it went in.

Elysium

Starring: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is Max, an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission - one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt and her hard-line forces - but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

Planes

Starring: Dane Cook, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett, Carlos Alazraqui

Dusty is a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing -- and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.

Country Music Badass

MIRANDA LAMBERT stopped in the middle of her concert last Saturday and threatened two women who were fighting over some guy.  She said, quote, "I don't really wanna have to kick anybody's ass tonight, so will you please get over it?"  Wanna see what happened?  Click HERE.

Bat McGrath And Tricia Cast

Rochester Music Hall Of Fame member Bat McGrath is playing at Lovin' Cup tonight, and has a new cd out.  He's in studio with his wife, actress Tricia Cast (Young and the Restless).  They talk about Bat's career, life in Nashville, his friendship with Doug Emblidge, and his classic song "Down At The Blue Eagle".

Ask Wease

- How does Wease balance being humble, and yet take credit for accomplishments and talents?  Wease doesn't like bragging, but if someone badmouths him or downplays his abilities Wease is more than able to stick up for himself and brag a little.

- Is there an age where it's too old for a man to piece his ear and get an earring.  Is a man in his mid 50s looking to do this going through a midlife crisis?  Part 2 first... YES.  Wease talks about having an earring for years because of rebellion, but now he believes in Huey Lewis's mantra, "it's hip to be square".

- A guy is in trouble with his girlfriend because sometimes when coming home at night he forgets to lock the door... it's a major problem for her, and has threatened to leave.  Is she crazy or is he an a**hole?  She might be crazy, but if something that easy is important to her, just remember to lock the door.  We think she's actually mad because he goes out with his friends too much, but isn't saying it.

Filmmaker Tom Malloy

We're joined in studio by Tom Malloy, a Hollywood filmmaker who also lives in the Rochester area.  He's promoting his new film "Ashley", which is premiering this weekend at Pittsford Plaza.  The movie stars Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) and Jennifer Taylor (Two and a Half Men).  Tom talks about  filmmaking, financing, the first time he met Wease (trying to sneak out of one of his films), and much more.

See ya tomorrow everyone with more fun, info, argiung, guests, and conversation.  It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.  See ya.
