Authorities offloaded $400 million worth of drugs in South Florida on Tuesday.
Crew members from the cutter Legare removed their hefty cargo – over 12 tons of cocaine and over one ton of marijuana seized by the U.S. Coast Guard – during an event that took place at 1 p.m.
The confiscations were made from 17 different smuggling vessels off the coasts of Mexico as well as the coasts of Central and South America.
The total amount seized is estimated to have a street value of $390 million.
Members of the Canadian Navy also helped in the captures.
