Charlie Tan pleaded guilty to federal gun charges, but NOT to killing his father.
Tan originally pleaded not guilty to accusations that he had had a friend illegally buy a shotgun used to kill Charlie's father, Jim Tan.
Fellow Cornell student, Whitney Knickerbocker, purchased a Remington shotgun at a Walmart in Cortland County.
That shotgun purchased was confirmed to be used to kill Jim Tan.
