Palmyra was the home of Joseph Smith, the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormon Church. Many mormons (and non-mormons) would come from all over the nation (and maybe the world) to see the Hill Cumorah Pageant. Our community is saddened to hear of it coming to a close, as the pageant consistently brought attention, and business to the area.
