The Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 35-year-old Stephen Butler in a case of no-show contracting.
Deputies say between December 2017 and March 2019, Butler received $119,323 for home repairs and renovations from an elderly couple in Pittsford.
Deputies say he also ran up $6,273 on the couple's credit card for his own personal use. He was supposed to use the card for repairs and renovation supplies.
Butler is facing charges of:
- 2nd Degree Grand Larceny (Class C-Felony)
- 1st Degree Identity Theft (Class D-Felony)
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says one of the victims has passed away since the alleged crimes were committed.
