A Rochester Police lieutenant was killed while riding his bicycle in Ontario County on Thursday night.
Lt. Aaron Colletti, 44, was involved in a crash with a motor vehicle on Woolhouse Road in Canandaigua just after 8 p.m.
Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson said Colletti was riding with his 17-year-old son. He suffered minor injuries.
Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary said Colletti was a member of the department for more than two decades. He was a husband and father of four.
"We lost a family member tonight," Singletary said.
