Jacobs Declares Victory in NY27

Chris Jacob's campaign has declared victory in the Special Election for New York's 27th District and the Republican Primary for the same district. The seat for the 27th was vacated last October when then-congressman Chris Collins resigned before pleading guilty to insider trading charges.

Jacobs holds 69% of the vote in the special election for the 27th, compared to 30% for McMurray. Whitmer and Gammariello hold 1% each.

In the 27th Congressional District Primary Jacobs leads with 71% of the vote. Parlato has 16% and 13% for Mychajliw. Mychajliw released a statement Tuesday night, conceding the primary race to Jacobs.

The final results of the contests might not be known for at least a week because absentee ballots need to be counted. Nate McMurray tweeted "There are more ballots out than people who voted today. We will count. Every. Last. Vote."
