If you bought an iPhone a few years ago, you may be able to get some money back from Apple. Apple settled a class action lawsuit. The company was sued for intentionally slowing down phones - some say it was to force people to upgrade. Apple settled the suit for $500 million. That works out to about $25 for each iPhone.
The covered iPhones and operating systems are:
- iPhone 6 (iOS 10.2.1 or later)
- iPhone 6s (iOS 10.2.1 or later)
- iPhone 6s Plus (iOS 10.2.1 or later)
- iPhone SE (iOS 10.2.1 or later)
- iPhone 7 (iOS 11.2 or later)
- iPhone 7 Plus (iOS 11.2 or later)
