An Idaho pastor who led a revolt against his state's order to wear face masks is now fighting for his life in an ICU after testing positive for COVID-19. Paul Van Noy, a self-described "no masker" who serves as Candlelight Church's senior pastor, was among six church officials -- as well as Van Nov's wife -- who tested positive last month, says ministry coordinator Eric Reade. While the others have since recovered, Van Nov was admitted to the ICU two weeks ago, Reade says. Van Nov temporarily shuttered Candlelight Church in March, then reopened less than two months later, telling parishioners they could leave their masks at home. However, Reade says the church's members are "welcome to" wear masks if they chose to do so.
