Tyquan Rivera Back in Jail For Violating Parole

Tyquan Rivera, the 21-year-old Rochester man who shot Rochester Police Officer Anthony DiPonzio in the head in 2009 is back in jail. Rivera was arrested for violating his parole. Rivera was released in July. He was 14 in 209 when he shot 24-year-old DiPonzio. He was convicted of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault. He was sentenced to 3 ⅓ to 10 years in prison because of his status as a youthful offender. DiPonzio went through intensive rehabilitation before returning to work in November 2011.
