A Wayne County man is facing charges after forcing a child at his home to hold a rock over her head as punishment.
Peter Heaton was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt after the girl was injured by the punishment.
Heaton forced the young girl to hold a 12-pound rock over her head.
The girl was hurt when she dropped the rock and it fell onto her.
Heaton had been ordered, in an order of protection, to stop punishing children in this way. He was arraigned in Lyons court and released.
