UPDATE: Death of 10-Year-Old Churchville Boy

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 10-year-old child, who died after being left home alone with a six-year-old.

The Churchville Central School District has identified the victim as a Middle School Student, J'Vieon Grayson-Sutton. They're making grief and counseling services available tomorrow for their students.

Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn says deputies were called about 9:35 Monday night to a house at 35 Fitch Street in Churchville, where the younger child had found the older one unresponsive.

Sheriff O’Flynn says the child ran to a neighbor, who called 911. The 10-year-old died at 11:00 Tuesday morning at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Sheriff O'Flynn says the children's mother was at work and her boyfriend, who had been watching her son and his, left to run some errands after they went to bed. He says there have been no arrests or charges yet but it's still early in the investigation.

Sheriff O'Flynn told the Kimberly and Beck Show that a pile of white powder was collected at the home and is being tested. He says they don't know yet if it was some kind of drug, and they don't have a cause of death yet. The Monroe County Medical Examiner is running toxicology tests, which take some time.
