TWCnews - "A Rochester area man is charged with child endangerment after deputies say he gave his son the go-ahead to walk from their home near Canandaigua to Lockport.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says 42-year-old Clinton Simmons let his 14-year-old son make the nearly 90-mile trek, but the boy didn't make it far. Deputies picked up the teen after he had walked nearly 10 miles.
They say he had a backpack with a pre-paid cell phone, food and money.
Child protective services was called in to investigate and determined there is no reason to worry about the teen's safety."
