Devastating news Tuesday night for UFC fans, and Jon Jones fans, as news came out that 'Bones' failed a drug test leading up to his rematch with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.

TMZ was first to report the failed test, which the UFC later confirmed came from a sample collected on July 28, after the official weigh-in.

TMZ reported that Jones has been stripped of his light heavyweight title belt, but UFC President Dana White denied that report.

Jones team released the following statement to MMA website MMAFIGHTING.COM:

We are all at a complete loss for words right now. Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation. We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. Jon is crushed by this news and we are doing whatever we can as a team, to support him.
