13 WHAM - "A couple in Avon was arrested after a burglary investigation led to animal cruelty charges against both of them.

According to Livingston County Sheriff's deputies, 38-year-old Everett Ross forced open a neighbor's shed on August 16 and stole a push lawn mower from inside. Ross then allegedly sold the mower to a pawn shop in Rochester.

While deputies were trying to find Ross, investigators said Ross and his live-in girlfriend, 34-year-old Jennifer Boyce, left pets inside their home for three days in the heat and humidity without proper food and water.

Deputies worked with Livingston County Dog Control to get a court order to remove the pets. Officers ended up taking a dog, a cat, a turtle, an amphibian, and a fish from the home.

Both Ross and Boyce were charged with cruelty to animals. Ross was also charged with burglary 3rd and petit larceny.

Boyce was released on an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date. Ross was arraigned and remanded to the Livingston County Jail without bail due to past felony convictions."
