WHEC - "Holly Colino, the woman accused of gunning down a wife and mother in Brockport, was in court Thursday morning. She was arraigned on the grand jury charges of: murder, weapons possession, escape and menacing.
In a twist, Colino's defense lawyer declined to enter a not guilty plea on her behalf, so Judge Charles Schiano Jr. entered a not guilty plea for Colino. Berkeley Brean: Can you explain why you didn't enter a plea?
Mark Foti, Holly Colino’s attorney: Ultimately there are certain determinations that are made by a defendant as to how she wants to proceed and one of them is whether you're going to enter into a plea. So at this time, because there are a number of issues that we need to resolve and we need to examine further, it's appropriate that the court enter the plea on her behalf.
Colino is accused of killing Megan Dix on Friday, August 25th while Dix was on her lunch break, sitting in her car in a secluded parking lot in Brockport. Brockport Police say Colino walked up to Dix's car, pulled out a 380 semi-automatic pistol and shot Dix in the head. Brockport Police say Colino and Dix were strangers."
