WHEC - "A Churchville woman is facing charges after investigators say video shows her striking pets at a dog day care.
Lollypop Farm reports the abuse occurred at Dog E. Woggy’s West. Alexis Malone, age 25, faces three counts of torturing and injuring animals.
Investigators say security video from the day care/boarding facility's kennel areas shows Malone hit a dog and drag dogs by their necks and collars.
“When owners send a pet to daycare or boarding, they are entrusting a business to provide compassionate care for a member of their family,” Alice Calabrese, president and CEO of Lollypop Farm wrote in a release. “Our investigators are able to enforce the laws of New York State to hold caregivers accountable to treat these pets humanely."
Malone is scheduled to appear in Gates Town Court next month to answer charges. If convicted, she faces a fine of $1,000 and one year behind bars."
