WROC - "Amateur cage fighters fought for their lives on Saturday both in and out of the ring.
Saturday night's Rage in the cage fight donated proceeds to the Thomas Golisano Hope Lodge. Fans entered the Main Street Armory in Rochester anxiously awaiting for the main event.
56-year-old, Angel Perez took on an opponent half his age named Tyler Amtore. Perez tells News 8 his fight goes beyond the ring. He's raising money for his mother-in-law who was affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
"She's 83-years-old she's independent, but she's devastated by the loss," Perez said.
Perez did not win inside the ring, but he's still a winner. He said this is just one more item to cross off his bucket list. Not bad for a fighter at 56. "I felt great after all he's 23-years-old. I'm good I completed three rounds I'm happy," Perez said"
