Self-Driving Uber Hit and Kills Arizona Woman

Police in Tempe, Arizona believe a self-driving vehicle was probably going around 40 miles an hour when it hit a woman.   The Uber SUV struck a woman walking a bicycle across a street in Tempe Sunday night.   Tempe Police Sergeant Ronald Elcock said there was a human safety driver behind the wheel, and that driver showed no signs of impairment.  The woman was not in a crosswalk at the time.

Elcock remarked that the matter is still under investigation.
