During family day at Groveland Correctional, inmate Lance Williams was arrested for attacking and injuring a guard in 2016. He was convicted of felony Assault in the Second Degree.
Williams could face up to seven more years in prison.
Assistant District Attorney Justin Hill: “On July 9, 2016 Lance Williams deliberately and violently attacked Sgt. Grisewood at the Groveland Correctional Facility. Sgt. Grisewood had observed Lance Williams with contraband in the restroom. In an effort to retrieve that contraband Sgt. Grisewood was senselessly attacked and suffers injuries that he continues to deal with to this day. This conviction ensures justice for Sgt. Grisewood while also protecting our community.”
