The Rochester Police Department is investigating a shooting involving an officer. Investigators said two officers encountered a group of people on Wilkins Street after 10 p.m. on Sunday. Police said shots were fired after officers got out of their patrol car.
One person was shot and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Investigators said it is too early to say if the shots came from someone in the crowd or the officers. Police said they recovered a gun at the scene. Wilkins Street was closed Monday morning between Hudson Avenue and Thomas Street.
