A Mount Morris man is charged with murder in a deadly hit-and-run accident that killed a toddler. Frank Cassata, 48, is accused of intentionally veering off the road and hitting Amir Pallet, 3, and his 23-year-old cousin Abriel Fair in a front yard on Lyell Avenue.

Pallet died at Strong Memorial Hospital. Fair was treated for her injuries and released. Cassata is charged with Murder in the Second, Vehicular Manslaughter in the 2nd, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, DWI and Refusal to Take a Breath Test. Police say additional charges may be presented to a Grand Jury pending the ongoing investigation.
