Couple Steals Beer, Then Lead Police on High Speed Chase

A Rochester couple is accused of steeling beer and leading police on a high speed chase. Brighton Police spotted a car around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving a call about the theft at Mobil on Jefferson Road. When deputies arrived the car fled and attempted to hide in a backyard on West Henrietta Road. At one point, the vehicle reportedly drove off the road, caused property damage and almost hit several members of law enforcement who had gotten out of their vehicles.

New York State Police got involved and pursued the car through multiple towns on the east-side. Authorities eventually found the car on Route 31F, in front of St. John Fisher, though they haven't said what led to the car coming to a stop. The driver, Elbert Davis, 54 and his passenger Alana Greenough, 30, were both arrested following the pursuit. No one was injured.
