Deputies found the truck involved in the freak accident that killed a 74-year-old woman on August 4 in Ontario County. Investigators said a 2009 Freightliner kicked up a rock. The accident claimed the life of Waterloo resident Barbara Amidon. The truck was owned by Manuel Vallejo and his brother of Vallejo Trucking. Investigators said they had just left Casella Landfill in Stanley after emptying a trailer full of residential waste. Video revealed a large rock was wedged between the rear dual wheels on the driver's side of the trailer as it left the landfill. The footage then shows the truck heading east on Rt. 5 while the mudflaps were up, which is a violation of NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Vallejo will be issued a uniform traffic ticket for the violation and will answer the ticket in court at a later date in the Town of Seneca.
