Police said footwear caused a crash in Ogden Thursday morning. The accident happened around 8 a.m. on Westside Drive near Spicewood Lane. Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said the driver had one of their sandals caught on the gas pedal, which caused them to swerve and hit a utility pole. The driver made it about one block before crashing. There was no one seriously injured in the crash. The crash took out power to two homes in the area.
