Earlier this offseason Jack Eichel made a jersey change. With Evander Kane now in San Jose, Jack switched from #15 to #9, the number he wore while at Boston University.
And TODAY it was announced that the 21-year-old (he turns 22 October 28th) will be the Sabres captain for the upcoming season.
Eichel signed an 8-year, $80 million contract extension last October meaning he should be in Buffalo through 2026.
