Right before the election of 2015, the UK's Labour Party was slightly ahead in the polls. But thanks to their leader's breakfast of choice, they went down in flames when it came time to cast the vote. Ed Miliband ended up resigning and the incumbent conservative Prime Minister David Cameron kept his turn as the country's leader. Experts think it was Miliband's decision to chomp down on a bacon sandwich that cost him the election. While the simple meal is considered a sign of the working class, it's not exactly the prettiest thing to eat in public. Miliband's people tried grabbing the plate from under him, but it was too late. The British press snapped over a dozen photos, plastering them on the front pages of the newspapers, leading his rivals and regular people to mock him on social media for the remainder of the campaign.
