Two Facing Charges in Sodus Double-Homicide

Two people have been charged in the double-homicide in Sodus. Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn were killed last month near their Carlton Street home. The mother of Niles' children, Charlene Childers, has been charged with conspiracy in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. A warrant has been issued for her current husband, Timothy Dean, for the charges of first degree murder, two counts of second degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The extradition process has already begun to bring Dean to Wayne County. He is currently being held in Texas on unrelated charges. Childers is being held at the Wayne County Jail. Deputies say she was in Texas at the time of the murders. Niles and Childers had been going through a custody battle and, days before his murder, he was awarded custody of their two children.
