McMurray Demands Recount With Indicted Rep. Christopher Collins

Democratic challenger Nate McMurray is demanding a recount. That came two hours after he conceded the race to indicted Republican incumbent Christopher Collins.The indicted incumbent said part of his winning strategy was avoiding the media. Collins is facing federal insider trading charges. His team would regularly dismiss or decline requests for interviews with the candidate. According to the Associated Press has Collins with 133,412 votes, McMurray with 130,316 votes and Reform Party candidate Larry Piegza with 5,737 votes. McMurray requested that ballots across the district be impounded. The 27th District encompasses 105 towns spread through all of Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming and Livingston counties, as well as portions of Erie, Monroe, Niagara and Ontario counties.
