WATCH: Bronx Mom Beats Down Car Thief

A 49-year-old Bronx woman has gone viral after she single-handedly stopped a car thief and pinned him down until police arrived. The woman, whose name has not been released, had auto-started her 2005 Honda to heat it up before taking her son to school. When the pair walked outside, she found a man in the driver's seat, attempting to steal the car. When the would-be thief thwarted her efforts to open the driver's door, she reached in through the passenger side of her car and dragged him out, police say. Responding officers found her pinning the suspect to the ground. The thief, identified as 19-year-old Bernado Santiago, was arrested and charged with attempted grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal stolen possession of stolen property.
