Rochester Police are investigating after a 15-year-old allegedly drove a stolen vehicle toward an officer prompting the officer to fire a weapon multiple times. The incident occurred Thursday afternoon on the city's west side. Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle in the area of Maple Street and Saxton Street. Officers terminated the pursuit when the vehicle did not pull over. The vehicle was spotted soon afterwards in a parking lot near the intersection of West Broad and Jay Streets. According to police, an officer approached the vehicle and told the person in the vehicle to stop, but the vehicle was driven toward the officer. The officer is said to have fired multiple times grazing the 15-year-old driver's lower body. The officer was not hurt, but has been placed on administrative duties as police investigate the incident. The teenager has been released from the hospital. There is no word yet on whether charges will be filed against the suspect.
