Did Grover Swear on Sesame Street?

A post of Reddit has people asking if Grover dropped an F-bomb on Sesame Street. It's turned into one of those Yanni / Laurel things where some people hear it and others do not.

The controversy even made its way back to Sesame Street puppeteer, Frank Oz. When asked on Twitter, he said: "Wait. You mean some of you out there seriously believe that Grover on Sesame Street would say the word "eff" -- on camera or off-camera? Really???? I didn't perform Grover there but I assure you, we take the purity of the characters very seriously. But people will hear what they want to hear."

He continued, "I've never understood why some people love imagining that, between takes, we screw around with the characters by having them swear or having them use sexual innuendos or putting cigarettes in their mouths and laughing. We don't. It would be a betrayal of the character's purity."

Mark Hamill gave his explanation: "Audio Illusion: It works both ways. First: Listen to it knowing he actually says "That sounds like an excellent idea"- It's pure Sesame Street. Next: Listen to it & you're sure he dropped the F-bomb. It's #GangstaGrover on The Sopranos. #Fuggeddaboutit."

This is another possible "F" bomb on Sesame Street!  This one I hear more clearly than the Grover clip above!

What is Sesame Street added bleeps?  It makes this Bert and Ernie sketch sound way different!

How about if bleeps were added to the Count?  HAHAHAHAHA!
