WILLIAMSON, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Update 10:30 p.m.According to deputies, the woman in the barricaded home: Stephanie Arenas, 34, was also arrested.
Arenas was charged with hindering prosecution and endangering the welfare of a child. She reportedly allowed the five children to leave the home while she remained inside fighting with Jones.
Arenas is not being held, and is awaiting a court date.
Update 2:30 p.m.Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts announced that 32-year-old Shannon Jones was taken into custody following this incident.
Sheriff Virts said that Jones barricaded himself inside the home along with five children and the woman he was having a domestic dispute with.
Wayne County Sheriff's Office had warrants for him prior to this incident for criminal contempt in the 1st degree and aggravated family offense; both Class E felonies.
None of the children were injured.
Original:Deputies in Wayne County are now on the scene of a hostage situation in a home in the town of Williamson.
Deputies first received calls of arguments at 1 a.m. and police have been on the scene since Saturday morning at around 8 a.m.
We were told the home is located on Route 104 between Townline Road and Redman Road and that there are children inside.
Route 104 near the Williamson-Sodus Airport is closed off.
A SWAT team was also called to assist deputies.
