Newscaster Apologizes For Racial Slur Similar to Kappell

Days after WHEC-TV meteorologist Jeremy Kappell was fired for uttering a racial slur while saying Martin Luther King Jr., a St. Louis newscaster is under fire for doing the same thing. Fox 2's Kevin Steincross botched the name of the civil rights icon on the morning show reportedly calling him "Martin Luther coon Junior." A viewer caught the mistake and called the station before the show was over. Steincross went on the air and apologized. Steincrosses' employer, Tribune Broadcasting, called the incident an "unfortunate mistake" and said they would not be taking disciplinary action.
