Investigators Say a Suspect Ate Contraband After I-390 Traffic Stop

Three people are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Livingston County. Investigators say Tracy Griffin, 37, Maelyn Ordway, 17 and Preston Blackshear, 29, were pulled over on I-390. Investigators say Blackshear, the driver, had marijuana at the time. He was charged with unlawful possession and issued an appearance ticket. Ordway was alleged to have a drug smoking device and was charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned and later remanded to jail on $250 cash bail or $500 bond. Deputies said Griffin had crack cocaine, a smoking device and drug packaging – which they say included 50 new glassine bags. She reportedly admitted to eating an illegal substance in an attempt to destroy contraband. A body cavity search revealed Griffin had hidden more than 10 grams of cocaine. She is facing several charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third, fourth and seventh degrees, criminally using drug paraphernalia.
