An elementary school student is among the 23 people killed after a tornado tore throughout Alabama. Taylor Thornton, 10, was sleeping over a friend's house when the tornado struck. Official wind estimates for the tornado are unclear. However, F3 storms typically pack wind speeds between 158 and 206 mph. According to The Weather Channel, Sunday marked the deadliest day for tornadoes in the country since 2013.
