County Legislator Named to Replace McFadden on City Council

Rochester City Council has appointed LaShay Harris to replace Adam McFadden. Harris, a member of the Monroe County Legislature, will represent the South District and serve out the current term, which expires at the end of the year. Harris has served on the county legislature for three years. McFadden's seat became vacant in April when he pleaded guilty to wire fraud and filing a false tax return.The City Council will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 5:30 pm in Council Chambers to vote on legislation naming Harris to serve as the South District Representative. She will take her Oath of Office County Legislator Harris will take her Oath of Office. The Monroe County Democratic Committee will recommend someone to fill Harris' legislature seat. That individual will serve the rest of Harris' term, which was to expire at the end of the year.
