Woman Who Tried to Flush Baby Down Toilet Gets Probation, Parenting Classes

A 27-year-old California woman was sentenced to probation and ordered to complete parenting classes for attempting to flush her newborn down the toilet. Sarah Lockner tried to drown her baby in the toilet after giving birth in a McDonald's bathroom during her shift in September 2017. A co-worker went to check on Lockner found the baby face down in the toilet bowl. Lockner was holding him down. The baby was taken to the hospital and survived. She was originally charged with attempted murder, but pleaded no contest to felony child endangerment in January. The baby is living with the father's aunt.
