Two Mississippi men are behind bars after they attempted to scam the state lottery commission by gluing winning numbers on a losing ticket. Columbus residents Odis Latham, 47, and Russell Sparks, 48, were taken into custody late Monday in connection with the incident, which the lottery commission became aware of earlier that morning, police say. According to Elowood Police Sgt. Adam Nelson, the men had cut the numbers out from one losing ticket and glued them onto another losing ticket to make it appear as it was a $100,000 winner. Latham and Sparks have each been charged with a number of counterfeit-related charges.
