The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has a warning about a phone scam. Investigators say the caller introduces himself/herself as a Monroe County deputy and claims there is a case open against the individual. The scammer goes on to say the individual can either be arrested or pay a fine.The MCSO says that any legitimate law enforcement agency will never demand money from a member of the public. Anyone who receives a call should contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and be cautious when answering calls from people they do not know.
