City Official Resigns After Throwing Cat, Drinking Beer On Zoom Meeting

Just because you're working from home doesn't mean you don't have to still conduct yourself in a professional manner. Just ask one official in Vallejo, California. The city's planning commissioner just stepped down after a video conference meeting last week with other members of the municipal staff went really downhill. According to the Times-Herald, Chris Platzer could be seen sipping from an alleged bottle of beer and cursing off-screen. But the pièce de résistance seems to be when he said "I'd like to introduce my cat," then tossed the animal. Platzer has resigned from his post, telling the newspaper in an email, "I did not conduct myself in the Zoom meeting in a manner befitting of a planning commissioner and apologize for any harm I may have inflicted."
