Oregon Family Runs Out Of Gas Trying To Escape Wildfire

An Oregon family says they are lucky to be alive after they ran out of gas while trying to get away from a wildfire. The Hargett family was camping at Detroit Lake State Park with their friends (southeast of Salem, OR). Early yesterday, they got evacuation orders because a nearby wildfire was spreading. They tossed everything into their car and took off. Not too far down the road, they ran out of gas. Luckily, their friends who were ahead of them turned around and rescued them. The Hargett's had to ditch their car and boat, but say that doesn't matter because they are ok.
