This $25 Product May Protect You from COVID-19

Bus drivers in Freeport, Long Island have been issued a new tool to fight off the coronavirus -- and so far, it appears to be working. Halodine is a new type of antiseptic that can be inhaled through one's nostrils, providing a layer of protection against the virus in the user's nose and throat. It's also available in an oral form, according to Halodine president Dr. Jess Pelletier. "It's not like your betadine; it's different," Pelletier says. "It's proprietary because it's removed of the toxins, so it's safe for the nose and mouth." While the inhaled drug is not a cure, Pelletier says its main ingredient, poviodone-iodine, can kill the coronavirus in 15 seconds. And it's not just for bus drivers; Halodine is available for about $25.
