Liquor Stores Allowed to Open on Christmas Day in New York State

For the first time in New York State, liquor stores this year will be allowed to open on Christmas Day.

It's not clear how many stores plan to be open, or how many people will be shopping for spirits.

In past years, Christmas Eve day has been one of the busiest of the year for liquor stores. With another day to shop, it's possible that purchases will be spread out.

The change in the law allowing the stores to open was included in the governor's budget earlier this year.
