Rochester police say the man shot and killed by officers during a foot chase on Monday had aimed a gun at them.
The man was known to police and was linked to two cases involving gunfire -- one Friday night on Monroe Avenue and one yesterday morning near Elmwood Avenue in Brighton.
Police spotted the man on Milburn Street on Monday and pursued him on foot. The man allegedly aimed a gun at deputies. Officers opened fire, killing him. There is video of the foot chase.
The state attorney general's office is investigating, as it does with all cases with deadly force involving a police officer.
