Pezzola Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Role in Capitol Riot

Rochester Proud Boy Dominic Pezzola has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges stemming from his role in the Capitol Riot.

He was cleared of the most serious charge of seditious conspiracy.

Pezzola was found guilty of stealing and destroying government property, obstructing an official proceeding and assaulting an officer.

The defense this morning raised objections to the pre-sentence report, which is a factor in the sentencing calculation.

Pezzola expressed remorse during the hearing and pleaded for a lighter sentence, saying he needed to be around for his children.

But the judge says his actions during the riot were unacceptable.

The sentence is half of what prosecutors had recommended, which is in line with the sentences fellow Proud Boy leaders Joe Biggs and Zachary Rehl received yesterday.
